  • Incredible sound: Perfect for musicians-in-the-making or advanced players, this guitar features an impressive tone, standout projection and incredible sonics. It's waiting to be heard.
  • Fine hardwood construction: Guitar is made from X-braced, A-grade Spruce wood, known for its resiliency and versatility and Basswood for warmth. Whether playing soft or loud, strumming or flatpicking, the guitar remains responsive and retains its tonal integrity.
  • Dreadnought cutaway design: The body of this full-size (41") guitar is cut away at the neck for better access and more comfortable playing of the top frets. The Dreadnought design (4.5" thick) creates an unparalleled sound with a deep low end while maintaining overall tone balance.
  • Loaded with upgrades: On-board 4-band pickup/EQ (bass, mid-range, treble, and presence), two sets of upgraded phosphor bronze strings, and an ultra-glossy, tough-as-nails finish with chrome tuning pegs.
  • Complete kit: Bundle includes the Ashthorpe guitar, a soft nylon "gig bag" guitar case, thin, medium & heavy celluloid picks, on-board 4-band pickup EQ, guitar cable, a shoulder strap, an extra set of strings and an owner's manual.

This bundle from Ashthorpe features a top-quality acoustic-electric guitar (can be played "Acoustic" without an amplifier, or "Electric" with an amplifier, not included). The guitar body is finely crafted from top-quality (A-grade) tonewoods; Spruce on top for its superior resilient and musical qualities, and Basswood (similar to Alder) is used for the back and sides for optimum tonal response and warmth. The underside of the soundboard is X-braced for superb structural integrity. The neck is constructed from marine grade Okoume which is extremely strong and balanced. The body is a full size (41") cutaway design, meaning the guitar body near the neck is cut back to allow easier access to the upper frets, making for more comfortable play. This guitar is a Dreadnought design (4.5" thick) which creates an unparalleled sound with a deep low end while maintaining overall tone balance. An integrated 4-band pickup equalizer with volume control knob gives you full tonal control when plugged into an amp (not included), and features adjustment slide controls for bass, mid-range, treble and presence. Two sets of high-quality strings are included (1 set pre-installed, just tune and play; and another set as a spare). These are made from stranded steel cores wound with stainless steel and phosphor-bronze and are coated with a proprietary anti-rust coating. They're built-to-last and sound great, with a full and perfect blend of warm and bright tones. Professional finishing touches include premium diecast chrome tuning pegs and gorgeous high-gloss finish. The complete set includes the 41" Dreadnought guitar, soft gig bag, 3 celluloid guitar picks (.46mm, .71mm and .81mm thick), on-board pickup EQ, instrument cable, shoulder strap and owner manual.

This accoustic Electric cutaway is a great player!!! The only thing I had to do to mine is put a new 9-volt battery in it and what a difference it made!!! It Rocked the house!!! I plan to buy more as gifts, I like it so well!!! For the money it just can't be beat!!!

A really decent guitar for the price

This is the second review I have written. I ordered one through Amazon. It arrived and looked really good until I started tuning it. The neck split, Amazon's return policy was very convoluted so I called MIX. They shipped out a replacement right away. The new one is beautiful and the things I noticed on the first guitar aren't on the new one. I tuned it up and played it. I did tighten the truss rod a little bit. I am very happy with this guitar. I don't like the strings but I have been playing for years and have particular strings that I like. Overall extremely satisfied with this guitar.

Unbelievably Good

Have had it for 3 days. Played and sounded terrific out of the box but strings very bright and rough feeling . Replaced them with Martin 10-47's. Much warmer now. Oiled fretboard, tjghtened tuners and strecthed strings. Played it for an hour and stayed in tune. Tuners very good. Intonation and setup dead on. No buzz. Played it through fender acoustic 100 and fender gtx 100. Wonderful sound and tone and low action rivals my best electrics. Neck straight as an arrow. Had a little backbow in it when strings were off. Did not have to adjust truss rod when restringed. Haven't tried case, cable, strap or picks yet but nice additions. Have a 1969 Yamaha FG 300 red lable nippon gacci that I bought new. This one doesn't match the workmanship and quality of the Yamaha but matches the sound and playability. The Fg 300 was their top of the line acoustic in 69 and cost me 275 dollars back then. This is an excellant guitar regardless of the low price. Very loud without being amplified. Get one if you are into acoustics. Don't think you'll be sorry.

Great First Guitar

This guitar feels and sounds great. The case is a little small but it works and is perfect for traveling. I've only tuned it once and haven't had to tune it again since (I've only been playing for roughly 2 weeks). It also comes with a couple picks that look good, but I prefer to use my fingers so I've barely used them. The 1/4 cord that comes with it is cool aswell. The only thing I dislike is the guitar strap. It's way to small. I'm a 5'8 guy with a relatively average shoulder size and there's barely enough slack for me to even get it around one shoulder. However this doesn't bother me since I practice sitting down and don't see myself needing to stand while playing for a while. I would have preferred a capo or a tuner instead though.

Despite that everything else is great and the guitar + case alone is worth the money. Thank you Ashthorpe! I will definitely be looking here again for future products.
